Just bought a new mountain bike (MTB) and are seeking some thrill? Well, ride off the beaten path and begin your MTB journey now. Here are 5 trails you should have a go at.
1. Chestnut Nature Park
Difficulty level: Intermediate
Trail: Unsurfaced, unclassified roads
Suitable for: Occasional cyclists with some experience
Types of bikes: MTB, Gravel Bikes, Cyclocross Bikes
One of the largest MTB trail in Singapore, it is categorized into two parts – north and south. The Southern loop features natural terrain with smooth and gentle rolls or climbs.

2. Mandai Track 15
Difficulty level: Beginner
Trail: Railtrails, forestry tracks

Great for beginner mountain bikers, this 12km route features gentle uphill climbs and downhill runs. With no sharp drops or corners, this route is perfect for beginners as an introductory trail.
3. Bukit Timah Mountain Bike Trail
Difficulty level: Intermediate to advance
Trail: Technical terrain, severe climbs and descents
Suitable for: Seasonal cyclists with trail riding experience

One of the initial trails in Singapore, it is quietly situated in the nature reserve. Approximately 6.5km long, this trail will most definitely test your stamina and endurance. This trail features a variety of technical features such as sharp descents and rocky terrain.
While maneuvering through the luscious greenery, be sure to look out for wildlife such as the Malayan pangolins.
4. Kent Ridge Mountain Bike Trail
Difficulty level: Intermediate to advance
Trail: Technical terrain, severe climbs and descents
Suitable for: Seasonal cyclists with trail riding experience

Daredevils, this is the trail for you! This trail features a curvy spine that will test your gripping and balancing capabilities. Beware of the sharp climb before speeding down the drop-offs, tight corners and slopes.

5. Ketam Mountain Bike Park
Difficulty level: Advance
Trail: Technical terrain, severe climbs and descents
Suitable for: Advanced cyclists with in depth knowledge of MTB trails

On the southwest of Pulau Ubin lies Ketam Mountain Bike Park. This trail was developed in accordance with International Mountain Bicycling Association’s Trail Difficulty System – hence, not for the faint-hearted.
With the combination of technical climbs, boulders and rocky descents, this 10km trail will definitely challenge even the most advanced rider.
